Please let me introduce you to sweet little mohair bear, "Catherine". She is 19" tall from head to toe. Catherine has been designed and meticulously handmade by Julie Howard of Bowral Bear Co. 

Although Catherine is brand new, she has been created in the old well loved style. She is fully jointed with a cotter pin for her neck to allow for movement that will never work loose, and quality lock-nut joints for her limbs. She has been gently filled with polyfil, some tiny pellets in her hands and feet.  A little bag of steel shot has been tucked inside his tummy to give her a pleasant weight. Her sweet little face has been meticulously scissor sculpted and pigments have been used to gently shade his face, body and paws. 

Catherine is wearing a genuine vintage dress. It looks to be homemade from unbleached cotton, and it has very fine vintage lace around the neckline. A small button closes the dress at the back, although I have left the top button open to nicely accommodate her genuine bruin hump.

The bow Catherine is wearing is of sentimental value to me. I inherited a lovely card of vintage French lace from my mother. I absolutely love this lace, and because of the sentimental value, I save it for my extra special bears. Catherine is one of them!

Catherine is wearing a beautiful vintage cameo. Her magnificent brown eyes have been crafted from fine quality glass. 

Catherine's face has been delicately hand shaded to bring her face and eyes to life.

Her dress has floral embroidery detail on the yoke. 

Catherine's vintage dress is full length and extends past her feet. She would sit beautifully on a bed or chest with her lovely dress draped around her. Her dress is very full & lovely. 

Clarissa's magnificent eyes are very expressive 

She is all filled up with lots of love just waiting for the right person to adopt her.

The attention to detail on Catherine's cameo brooch is quite amazing.

She has such a sweet expression on her face. Her face has been needle-sculpted for added expression and character.

Catherine's mohair fu is not such a honey color in real life.

Catherine's bow has been attached with a pin for easy removal.

It's all in the fine detail.

Catherine's magnificent brown eyes have been created fine quality glass, then slightly dulled for a vintage look. Hand-shading brings her eyes to life. 

As with all Julie's bears, all seams have been triple sewed. Every seam is double stitched and then overcast for added strength & durability. This darling little bear has been made to last & become an heirloom. Every possible attention to detail & superior workmanship has been given.

Gentle shading & great attention to detail show the difference between an ordinary bear & a true artist's bear. A true artist will work for hours, adding pigment & shading until every feature is just right. None of my bears leave my studio until every feature is just right. None of my bears leave my studio until I am absolutely satisfied they are as close to perfect as they can be. They don't leave until I am so satisfied with the end result that I can hardly bare to part with them myself. This darling little bear is no exception & I know will make a welcome addition to any bear hug.
